Nutritionist
In my daily work at the BKUS Child and Youth Mental Health Centre, I often come into contact with children and young people who are diagnosed with eating disorders - eating disorders or overweight and obesity.
At this stage in a child's life, parents are an undervalued resource in the child's recovery. I am convinced that the active involvement of parents in the process of changing eating habits and introducing a wholesome diet is a crucial factor in their child's recovery. Most often, parents want to help their child, but do not always know how.
As a nutritionist working with eating disorders, my role is to find and help parents focus on what they can do for their child at this point in time, to provide the necessary knowledge about good nutrition, and to provide the support that is so desperately needed by parents of a child with an eating disorder.
I have a deep interest in eating disorders in children and young people, in weight correction and in analysing and improving dietary habits, but I also advise adults on the specifics of nutrition and the adaptation of diets in cases of various chronic diseases with specific nutritional requirements.
