Headache diagnostics and treatment is not an easy task, as there are about 200 diseases that are accompanied by headaches. A doctor must have experience and the ability to navigate various diseases associated with headaches. Headache treatment varies and the best results are achieved with a comprehensive approach, which can be provided by various qualified specialists in their fields. The Vivendi Headache Center was created so that patients can receive the best professional care in one place. In turn, colleagues of the center’s multidisciplinary team, by cooperating with each other, enrich their experience and are able to deal with more complex cases more successfully.
Since 1996, when I became the first head of the Latvian Headache Society, I have been interested in the diagnostics and treatment of headaches. I regularly attend international congresses, give lectures and conduct seminars on headache problems for doctors of various specialties in Latvia and abroad. I believe that due to the complex and ambiguous mechanism of migraine and other primary headache development, the best results are obtained with combined treatment, using both medications recommended by a pain doctor or algologist, methods recommended by a psychiatrist or psychotherapist, and choosing an appropriate diet or using physiotherapy methods for muscle relaxation and harmonious movement. Sometimes the situation is resolved by arranging your emotional sphere, learning meditation methods, and regulating eating habits. And medications are no longer needed!
